As many of you know, 10 weeks ago I broke my leg.  I've been in a cast, on crutches and in a wheelchair for ten whole long boring weeks.  I've had to watch the entire summer go by through the windows in the house and believe me it hasn't been fun.

I've never been one to be confined for long.  Loaded with energy 'sitting still' has never been one of my fortes unless I'm singing a concert or constructing a stained glass window, or reading a great novel.  But sitting still for many weeks at a time just about drives me bonkers.

I recently returned from two great writers conferences, one at the Vee Bar Ranch in Laramie, Wyoming and the other in Gunnison, Colorado.
