The water was up to the hub caps of the Jeep. It had rained from New Mexico all the way across the state of Oklahoma and into Arkansas. For once the weathermen had been accurate. It would rain all weekend, six inches or more. But that certainly didn’t dampen the spirits of the hundreds of eager participants scheduled to attend the 41^st Ozark Creative Writers Conference.

Recently I have been asked by several organizations to do some public speaking about what it’s like to change your life, loves and passion at the age of fifty.  This is a subject quite dear to me and one that is sometimes difficult for women to implement or imagine. 

In my most recent speaking engagement the topic was "Never Stand Next to Me in an Electrical Storm", subtitled: "Just When I Thought Nothing Else Could Happen to Me."  It was well received and there was excellent feedback from the women that attended, some have become regular visitors to this site since then!
